Are you an aspiring documentary filmmaker between 16-25 years old? Are you looking to kickstart or further your filmmaking career? Step2TV and BFI have an exciting opportunity for emerging documentary talent. You can gain £500 funding towards producing your documentary idea, mentoring by industry experts and worldwide exposure. We are looking for four upcoming filmmakers passionate about factual film interested to bring unique stories to light. Mentoring

Step2TV will provide an intensive mentoring weekend at Ealing Film Studios that will consist of developing your ideas and preparation to produce your short documentary film (under ten minutes long). You will also gain invaluable advice from TV development expert the TV Mole (Nicola Lees) who has developed hundreds of factual programmes for network and cable channels in the UK and USA, including the BBC, Discovery Channel, Travel Channel and TLC. Step2TV will also provide online mentoring during the duration of the DocNext scheme.

Funding

This is an opportunity not to miss as it not only develops your skills as a documentary filmmaker but also provides you with £500 funding and the opportunity to feature your film on a world platform. This is your chance to fund your creative career as you please, meaning you can spend the funding on whatever you believe is necessary to complete your short documentary.

Exposure

The final films produced by the four winners will get featured on Step2TV Network, BFI and Doc Next Network websites giving your films exposure across UK and Europe. Documentary ideas will also be entered into the Reality Capture Pitch with the chance to gain broadcast credits and a worldwide audience.

2.The scheme is open to 16-25 year olds
3.Those selected for the scheme must be available for the intensive mentoring weekend in London on 1st - 2nd October 2011 - Please keep these dates free!
